Checkers Rules Checkers is a two person game. If no human opponent is available, you may practice against the computer, but no Dots will be earned.
Black moves first. Pieces are moved diagonally forward one square onto a vacant square of the same color. When a piece reaches the opponent’s back row, it is crowned and becomes a King. A King may move one square at a time both forward and backward. A King ay capture in either direction as well. King’s may be captured by other Kings or standard pieces.
You may capture an opposing player’s piece by jumping over it diagonally to an empty square. Captured pieces are automatically removed from the board. If your piece is now in a position to capture one or more enemy pieces by continuing to jump diagonally, it is required to do so.
A player wins when she has captured all her opponent’s pieces, or blocked them so they are unable to move.
